About
Where the body keeps the story
Embarrassingly, I started yoga as an exercise option for stretching. I quickly realized it could be strengthening in both body and spirit. From the physiological benefits of breathing to the intangible hum of the universe at the lingering end of Om, I want to pass on to others the peace and connection I have found. As a yoga teacher, and speech therapist with an involvement in equine and canine-assisted therapy, I like to create spaces where people can connect mind and body – whether through a vinyasa flow or a safe nurturing experience with an animal.
I believe that yoga as an iterative, relational practice can help us to manage our bodies and our selves. My background in speech therapy not only taught me about voice but also to listen and understand beyond what people were saying with that voice. Yoga teaches us to listen to what our bodies are saying. The body is a vehicle for getting in touch with our self. I am committed to making a yoga practice accessible and grounded in connection with the communities I serve.
